New Song Release - Fly High - by Christina Alford

For eighteen years, I was blessed to have known both my grandfathers and both of my grandmothers. I had the privilege of listening to their stories and hearing their advice.

When my grandfather passed away two weeks after being diagnosed with lung cancer, it was heart breaking. My mind began to wander knowing things would never be the same. I would never spend another Christmas with him or hear his laughter. I would never hear him call me by my nick name or see him in his favorite chair.

Even though I was devastated, I knew he was in such a better place. I knew He was in heaven being the angel my family always knew him to be. "Fly High" was inspired by these feelings of grief, anger, and hope, and I know that I'm not alone in experiencing these emotions.

As Christmas time approached, I knew that so many families were grieving the loss of loved ones due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It is an awful, awful plague that has touched all of us in some way. I want this song to be a comfort to all those who lost someone this year.

Whether it be to the coronavirus or any other illness, Christmas will be a lot harder this year for all of us. Let this song minister to you and let you know that those loved ones aren't lost: they're flying high.
